We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback respectfully. We do want to encourage discussion around bold work (which includes color and non-realism), but it is important to remember that different artists have different approaches to applying Bold Color. This is great! This makes each work original to each artist.
When commenting on another's work, we encourage kind and respectful critique, but not criticism. We encourage positive feedback. Please point out all the ways in which the piece succeeds, or the positive ways it stirs your emotions. When offering a suggestion for improvement, do so with respect and encouragement rather than criticism. Consider the mantra, Do unto others as you would have them do to you.
Although one way to become a better creative is to learn to embrace how to give a professional critique, it is also true that on some level critique is opinion. It may or may not be valid, beneficial, or the way you want to go with your work.
It's good practice to not simply dismiss feedback, but you may, after consideration, decide not to implement a suggestion. That is fine -- this is your work! A good rule of thumb is if one person makes a suggestion, you may consider that it is simply their idea. If many people make a suggestion, there is likely some validity to what is being recommended.
We strive at all times to encourage artists as well as to facilitate growth in becoming the best artists we can be. Thanks again for being part of Bold School.
